Being a part of Webster Schroeder Wrestling is an incredible opportunity for any high school student who is passionate about the sport. The team provides a challenging and rewarding experience that can help students develop important life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and self-discipline. Many of the wrestlers who have come through the program have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, and some have even become coaches themselves. Whether a wrestler is a seasoned veteran or just starting out, they will find a welcoming and supportive community at Webster Schroeder wrestling. With a strong tradition of excellence and a commitment to helping every wrestler reach their full potential, this team is a force to be reckoned with in the world of high school wrestling.

Michiel Ciaburri - Head Coach
Coach Mike Ciaburri teaches physical education at Webster Schroeder High School. He has been teaching in the district since 2011 and also coaches the freshman football and modified unified basketball teams.
Coach Ciaburri wrestled and played football in High School. As a high school wrestler at Palmyra - Macedon he was a team captain, 100+ career win club member and sectional champion.
He went on to wrestle all 4 years at SUNY Cortland, earning his degree in Physical Education. On the mats for the Red Dragons he was named team captain, two-year starter, ECWC Conference Champion, All-State, National Qualifier, and NCAA Scholar All-American while ranking as high as #7 in the country.
Coach Ciaburri has an incredible passion for wrestling at Webster Schroeder rooted in the belief of “Building Champions On and Off the Mat”.

Jeff Harrison
A successful 3 sport athlete at Dundee Central, Coach Harrison was a 5-year varsity wrestler with 149 wins. He was a 3x Section V class D champion, 1998 Super Sectional runner-up and named 1998 Wayne- Fingerlakes most-outstanding wrestler.
He went on to play football at St John Fisher College (3x Captain) earning a bachelor's degree. He has coached wrestling at Schroeder the last 6 years at all levels and for the last 13 years competed in drug tested natural bodybuilding earning pro cards in 5 different organizations.

Alex Gruevski - Heavyweight Coach
Coach Alex Gruevski (Coach Gru) is a 2012 graduate of Webster Schroeder and was a member of the 2012 Sectional Champion Team. He was the starter at 220 lbs and was a team captain. Although Coach Gru did not initially see success on the mat, he continued to work hard to perfect his craft, and was able to place 3rd at Counties, 3rd at Sectionals, and 4th at Supers during his senior campaign. He is devoted to working with the Heavyweight wrestlers to develop their unique skill set.
Coach Gru also played football for Webster Schroeder and was a member of the 2009 Sectional Champion Team. He was a team captain his senior year.
After high school, Coach Gru attended the University at Buffalo, SUNY and attained degrees in Biomedical Sciences (BS) and Psychology (BA). He is currently enrolled at Roberts Wesleyan University to become a School Psychologist (MS).

Mike Berenson
I’ve been involved in wrestling since the age 12. I was a high school and college wrestler. I’ve helped coach high school and college teams have been a wrestling official for over 25 years. I am also the proud parent of two son’s who wrestled for most of their lives. To say wrestling is a part of me is an understatement. My love for this sport unmatched.

Andrew Gleasman
Coach Gleasman was a successful 5-year varsity wrestler, team captain and memeber of the century club at Pittsford high school. He went on to be a starting collegiate wrestler at RIT.
Ultimately, his mission is to help his athletes reach their personal goals, whether that's becoming a state champion, improving their technique, or simply becoming a better overall wrestler. By providing guidance, support, and encouragement, his aim is to help all athletes achieve their full potential and thrive both on and off the mat.

Nick Randies
I graduated from Webster Schroeder in 2016 and I played varsity football and wrestling. I obtained a phys ed and health ed degree from Bowling Green State University, and I’m currently in my 5th year of being a PE teacher. I’m currently a modified football and wrestling coach for the district as well. Sports and coaching are big passions of mine and I’m a firm believer that sports can teach you ways to solve any problem that life throws at you. I’ve been a part of this program/district my entire life and I’m dedicated to elevating it to the highest possible position.
